I am having so much fun reading and responding to a gazillion journal entries, that I have not taken the time to make my own entry. At first, I was concerned that I may be shirking my responsibility to myself to do a daily write on some thought or opinion I had. However, and I hope this isn't seen as a cop-out, I have been leaving some, I think, witty responses on other folks entries and I would like to think that is writing.
All that being said, I know I am coping out of my promise to myself. Why is that?
The hardest discipline for someone like me is to sit and be quiet. A writer needs to do that. Just sit and let the thoughts take over and in time an idea will come on which an essay can be written. Some JLanders write beautifully and I am loving thier entries. But I can not return the favor as I have not written anything of late.
I think I am doing the reading to avoid the writing. That being said, I am going to work on a piece called, "Writing about Nothing". LOL I'm thinking of Jerry Seinfeld and his show.
Until then, Karen

I enjoy all your comments, Karen! When it comes to writing, just do it as the "spirit moves you," as my Mom would say. Apparently the spirit seems to move me quite a bit. LOL

I love your comments and I love reading whatever you have to say. I don't really expect to find a whole lot of deep stuff on journals, just the real life things interest me. I can't sit here very long at a time either. So anything goes :).........alice
Thankyou for your comments on my journal ,I am afraid I am as guilty as you ,but by the time Ihave read lots of journals and commented on as many as possible ,I have run out of time to do my own entry heehee ..love Jan xx
I think the heat here has fried my brain as far as writing or commenting. Always enjoy your journal when you do write. Paula
Go with your natural ebb and flow. I know I am crazy busy at work right now, and usually do more at home after some Journal surfing, and only do one or two entries a week when it is like this. Besides, this is J-Land, no guilt :o)
Hi Karen thanks for stopping by my journal. I love reading journals and I don't write in my own very much. My daughter is the one who wanted me to start a journal. Nice to meet you.

So? You've just written something. See how easy? If you write something every day even if it's just "Hello" it get's the spirit moving. DB
will be interested to read your entry about "nothing" when you write it; bet it will be a good one; sometimes its good to take a break and read others, might help your own creative juices to start flowing again!

Alot of the writing I do is introspective. I'm forever surprised when someone else comes away with something out of it for themselves. I believe it was Stephen King who wrote, "The best writers are those who write about things they are knowledgable about." i.e. yourself, your surroundings and experience. Having read that one can only wonder about his own writing. Now there is an unsettling thought (winks). (Hugs)Indigo
